ZTE, Huawei Selected by Telefonica for LTE Trials in Europe, Latin America

China's ZTE and Huawei Technologies have been chosen by Spanish telecom operator Telefonica for the supply of equipment in its LTE (Long Term Evolution) trials in Europe and Latin America, according to a China Knowledge report on November 11. The trials will be conducted over a period of six months in countries including Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Czech Republic, Brazil, and Argentina. ZTE and Telefonica's collaboration is expected to focus on Spain. Other companies selected by Telefonica for the LTE project include Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia Siemens Networks, and NEC.
